Caring for our planet
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims: ‘to protect the planet from degradation including through sustainable consumption and production, sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent action on climate change.’
By 2030, however, there will be 5 billion middle-class consumers living on our planet. To sustain rising global prosperity and to make it inclusive, we need to engage all stakeholders in caring for our planet.
In terms of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our work focuses on Goals 14 and 15 on conserving marine and terrestrial ecosystems and on Goal 17 on the means of implementation – i.e., trade, finance, policy coherence, and capacity building.
