All the conservation measures are in line with the specific management plan for the designated Natura 2000 sites as well as with the plans for the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. The parameters for conservation impact assessment will be set by the agreed objectives of these plans. [Published: 2015]

The Green Circle Bee-landscape aims at the return of bees, bumblebees, other pollinators and butterflies to the landscape through the creation of a regional, cohesive network of ecologically diverse grassland areas. We do this by developing a social network of dedicated actors, helping them to create a common vision and supply them with information how to design in cooperation an ecologically sustainable networks for pollinators.  [Published: 2016]

Although the area is rather small and in an early stage of development the potential of the area is considerable. The VCA enlisting will contribute to its realisation. The wider impact of Ecovillage Boekel on the surrounding area and broader in the Netherlands will probably be much larger and could serve as a blueprint for developing future residential areas.  [Published: 2018]

For registering our terrain at the VCA Platform we are required to make this conservation management plan. This plan helps us to be accountable for funding organisations and investors. It makes our ecological added value measurable. Already this resulted in the commitment of the National Greenfund  to finance all our innovative green elements. [Published: 2018]

In 2017 Ecovillage Boekel will execute the following work in order to register Ecovillage Boekel as a VCA by the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018: 1. Preparing the more detailed management plan; 2. Stakeholder consultation: process and outcomes; and. 3. Time line for these activities [Published: 2017]
